Need some kin handle/blade ratio help!

I just got my custom rodent solution.I love it!
I wear a size 12 ring ,xxl gloves I'm 6'5"...the fact I can get a four finger grip on the RS is pretty good.However I am pressed against the bottom guard and have no finger spread AT ALL.
If this is my best option for a 3.5" blade in the busse family it's acceptable.I want to carry this horizontal Edc in city under my shirt.I also want to use it as my primary trail knife and have the rodent 6 back at camp.
I don't want to go over the 3.5 inch size if possible but I would like another inch of handle.
any options?

I'm not quite as big as you, but close. I can't think of a better Bussekin handle option for a full grip in that blade size class. Many of the others have limiting "hooks" at the butt end. SAR 3 or 4 would probably be the only other thing close.
 
I carry a HRLM as a necker quite a bit. I'd bet it would fit your hand well. Has a longer\thicker grip than lots 0f others with same blade size. I haven't had a RS so can't say weither it would be better than it or not though. Think HRLM is great edc\trail knife. Somebpdies probably got comparison pics of a bunch of different models you'd be interested in. With so many options and lack of knowledge of specs on my part not sure what to say would be best. HRLM is all around winner for me though.
 
Ok I just went and found comparison pictures for all blades mentioned,the hrlm is cool! It is a lot more blade though and it seems nothing going to come close.With the compact form I'm looking for I think the rs is my best bet.Just wanted to be sure before I beat the hell out of it .

One thing about the R4 is that the choil adds handle-length, in a manner of speaking, allowing a larger hand to fit the handle via choking-up.

Another option is the "mudder" handle found on older Rats and dogs (not my pic):

Another option is a guardless RS - just grind the guard away and extend the choil (again not my pic):

Good points! That's my pic BTW. ;) It came from the Swamp custom shop like that, and was inspiration for this other good option, that I commissioned the custom shop to make for me. Similar reasons as why you're looking. A bit more blade than a RS though.

Damn Chiral and Spyder thanks! This just became an awesome thread! And for me an expensive one lol I just realized that I want a couple more small Rats.
I sent my R6 in for a choil enlargement, it was popping my fat fingers open and came out perfect. I didn't think of this on the smaller blade.I'll put it through her paces awhile and may well end up grinding the guard in the future.
In the first picture its rodent solution,rodent 4,HRLM...whats the last one on the right?
I'm thinking a HRLM is a prime candidate for a guard removal.
I never see independent custom makers doing an extended handle,might be a consideration in addition to getting more Rats.
My cheap temporary leather sheath arrives tomorrow from the auction site, and I am going to edc a fixed blade for the first time! Pretty excited,she just been sitting in the armoire waiting to roll.Always a strange feeling deciding to begin thrashing that mint condition.

One last question does anyone know if the custom shop order freeze that Jerry announced is just one the BUsse side or is that the swamp too?

My guess would be that it is the Busse side of things, I might be wrong though. Swamp Custom Shop is not the same people as Busse, so it might be still up for orders. The best thing would be to shoot Trissy an email to confirm.
 
I just placed a CS order over on the Swamp 24 hours ago and Trissy said it was all good, so I imagine it's only the Busse Combat CS that is...ahem...Swamped :)

What elov_alv wrote, it's an RMD. I got those last two as my first rats when they were both still available from the Swamp, added the RS later, bought the R4 second-hand but sent it along to a fellow overseas as I preferred the HRLM handle... although the HRLM could use a little more space in the choil, maybe a little less guard as you suggested.
