Need some manufaturer info

I'm looking for a contact number or email address for Dan Winkler in North Carolina. He's a custom knife maker. The number I have on him is 'no longer in service.'

As a side note, I'm also interested in info on any maker who produces knives that are designed to produce sparks with flint - not metal matches but true flint since very few knives will do this.

Please don't move this to another forum since it will probably get more exposure here. Thanks.

Don't know if it the same one that you already have. It would be great if you could tell us more about knives that spark with flint, in your article perhaps.

Will any carbon steel do for sparking with flint? Or does it have to be "simple" carbon steel and not the air-hardening tool steels like A2, D2, etc.?

Interesting note about your research.

I'm curious: are you advocating using the knife as a striker in a survival situation? Or would you have a flint striker made of the same material as an accessory to the knife, stored on the sheath, for instance?
