Ok so I am in the market for a new folder and I am stuck as I can not find one I want. So let me throw out some info on what I have found and what I dislike about each model, to better give you guys an idea of what I am looking for here.

Knives I have liked
Ritter Grip (handles feel cheap in my hand)
Spyderco Para 2 (tip looks like it will break if you look at it wrong)
Spyderco Manix 2 (wish it was ffg)
Spyderco Sage 1 (why cant this be made in Golden)
ZT 550 (bit heavier than what I am looking for also heard about a lot of lock rock issues)

So basicly I want something made in America, that will slice well, is one hand open and close, that will be sturdy in use, and wont weigh over 5 ozs.

Also just because I am a knife nut THE KNIFE HAS TO LOOK GOOD!!!!

Here's my equation:

Perfect knife = Ritter grip + custom scales......get it? Oh and here's some people that make em:

On BF there's:

Tuffthumbz/tuff knives (Geoff)
Not paid dealer you'll have to look him up...

cuscadi (Luke)

The Para2 tip is a lot stronger than it looks. I wish I could find the video of the guy stabbing a paint can with it with no problems.
The BM grip ,look at the bone collector,it has g10. check the weight I think it is kind of heavy
Manix 2 is made in FFG. I have one.
ZT 550,Look at the 0560 I'm not sure of the wieght but it does not feel heavy to me. Good wieght to size ratio IMO.
A few more you might like are BM 707 ( I do really like the AXIS lock) Protech TR-3 (they make a non auto version also)and HEST 2.0 (it can slice well )
If you can deal with something made in new zealand and not having a lock the SVORD Mini peasant is a slicing machine! and 10 bucks.
don't forget abot the skyline, blur ,leek, rake and turbulence from Kershaw.

I thought the Grip handles were cheap until I had one, then they were just super light. The Para is actually quite tough, and many people here can vouch for that. Remember that while the Sage is Taiwanese made, buying it gives money to Spyderco for more domestic knives.

If you disregard the American made part, the Sage (1 or 2) fir your bill perfectly. They aren't consider near perfect edc knives for nothing.

Southern Grind. Made in the US. Totanium, carbon fiber, Sandvik, Wave. Need I go on?
