I have a local knife show coming up in the next 2 weeks and I'm hurrying around trying to get a few to try and sell. In saying that, I was putting a handle on this blade today and messed up my grind so I tried to salvage but I'm just not sure about it. So I'm asking for some honest opinions, do you all think it looks good or should I remove this handle and try something else?

Thanks for your imput

Bill

Put a sheath on it and sell that beautiful piece of steel and wood..
Looks great to me.

Bill, If it were mine, I'd be proud to sell it. I do not think I have made a knife yet that has somehow "changed" somewhere along in the process. When I look closely at every handmade knife I have ( and this includes a couple Randalls), I smile when I notice the subtle differences in grind from side to side and other suble changes in fit and finish. This serves to remind me how this was not made by a machine. This "character" is what makes these efforts special.

...... and by the way, besides not seeing anything wrong with your knife, I wouldn't have even thought to take that critical a look - if you hadn't mentioned it - keep up the good work!

Thanks Guys

The fit and finish is real good, and the grind on the blade is as good as I can do. It was the handle shape that I messed up, took way more off the butt then I intended and was afraid it was making the whole package look odd. The handle is hour glass shaped looking down on it and feels great in the hand, but I was afraid I screwed up the look.
Dreamer, yes its a drop point.
George, made it at a friend of mines shop, he has a press, billet was 1095 + L-6 + 15n20, 440 folds and we twisted the crap out of it.

anymore comments are appreciated.

Thanks
Bill

If I was you I'd bury that ugly dang mofo so deep in the ground even the bugs couldn't get to it. Better yet, since you're a friend, send it to me and I'll take it out into Lake Michigan and dump it for you.;)

From a buyer's perspective = I would want to know how much you plan on selling it for. If it's high - put a new handle on it. If you don't expect a lot out of it, keep the current handle.

If it's not up to your "standard, etc" then that will show when put it next to the others on your table.

Just my humble 0.02

Thanks Dan,

Thats what I'm looking for, opinions from both makers and buyers, the buyers like you are the ones us makers have to please, so thanks for you throughts.

Thanks
Bill

Bill, on a more serious note, if the handle integrity has not been compromised, no flaws, except maybe that it did not come out exactly as you had envisioned it before completion, then I would say, by all means sell it. No matter what you think of the shape of handle or blade, someone is going to love it. Good grief, look how that tactical stuff sells. ;)

I don't like the background:p but the knife looks great..
there is someone out there just itching for it.
many different taste out there,it could
be the one that bowls them over.
