Hello Guys/Gals,

After severals years of being out of the loop, my intrest in knives has been rekindled, thanks to a close friend of mine who recently showed me his knife collection. I just purchased a spyderco native from my local wally world and i`m really impressed with the fit/finish. It came out of the box razor sharp, even have a couple of bald spots on my arms to prove it. Anyway, for my next purchase i have my eyes on the CRKT PHAROAH. It appears to be a heavy duty folder and i love the way it looks, from the web photos i`ve seen. Have any of you had experience with this knife and if so, what are your opinions? Any input will be greatly appreciated,THANKS.

What's your budget and what are you looking for? There might be some better options to look at and compare to.

I have not handled a Pharoah yet , they appear to be sturdy knives.
Aus-8 steel , should be easy to maintain and keep sharp. THe only drawback I can think of is the blade shape , while it looks cool it may be a PITA to sharpen if you are not famaliar with sharpening.

CRKT's Carson's M series is very popular with many , many models to choose from.
Check out AG Russels site , they have a ton of great offerings including Spyderco , Kershaw , CRKT , Buck , Benchmade , so forth and so on.

Sounds like with some more time browsing around, that new-kindled interest might soon find worthier knives to hanker after.

The Pharoah is a heavy knife with a very solid feel to it. The button lock system CRK&T is using with it seems to be very solid itself. There was no play, side to side, or up and down, in the blade, and the blade came very sharp out of the box. I really liked this knife as it just felt good in my hand. For the money, I think it is well worth it.

Thanks guys for the replies. I planned on using the native for my EDC/beater. By the way, the native really feels good in my hand seems like a solid knife, probably the best $45 i`ve ever spent. I chose the PHAROAH as my next purchase initially on the looks, it is a great looking knife that really caught my eye. It looks very beefy and since i`m partial to larger folders, i think it might fit the bill. I haven`t been able to find many reviews on this knife so i`m purchasing on blind faith and trusting CRTK`s reputation on quality which more people than not, that i`ve read, is pretty good.
