....of Roach Belly knives. I think it`s time I made one. If you have some, post them here. I really enjoy making the more traditional knives, I have an idea for a big Bowie floating around in my head (too much empty space in there :D)

Hudson Bay RB 11.5" overall

That bottom one is too "Persian" with the upsweep.

ML makes a great Roach.

The shape of the Cols Steel Roach Belly is cool too.

I guess by definition (curved blade) these would both be a Roach Belly.

Top is 10 1/4" OA 5 3/4" blade
Bottom is 8" OA with a 4" blade

I think a JK version of the Coldsteel Roach Belly would be awesome !!!!

Oh man, I can't wait to see what John comes up with for this. I have always liked the roach belly design - pointy, a bit of belly, and good finger clearance, all in a rustic package.

Here's a shot of my little EDC scandi (the same one in my sig line). I had some classic roach bellies in mind when I was working on it. In the end, I decided to drop the point slightly, just to add a bit of strength.

Also, check out the galleries at North River Cutom Knives. They have a few roach bellies and some similar designs, and they really go for the traditional look - http://www.north-river-custom-knives.com/index.html .

All the best,

- Mike
