Need source for BG-42

Please help! I have been waiting to make knives for my custom orders for weeks!

I need a "new" source for BG-42...For some reason I can't get a bar delivered to my shop for blood or money...I have been sent the wrong stuff twice and now I get a piece that looks like it's been run over by a train!

So I'm waiting for a replacement piece and today the salesman calls and say's that although he can't see the bar I have, he's sure it "OK" because his foreman says so...

I told him...well let's just say I'm not happy...

Can anybody help me?

BTW, this is a public apology to Sing and others who have been waiting all this time...Suppler difficulty can kill a small business like ours...He told me that the steel would be here today but now he will send it out tomorrow...The minute it shows up here at my shop, we'll start cutting...

BTW this steel comes from a company in a town called Alsip...

i bought a bar 7ft long from admiral steel. and recieved it with no problems. i've groud one knife from it but haven't had it heat treated yet, so i can't tell how good of quality it is.

Timken owns Latrobe and Latrobe *makes* BG42, that link should take you to their distributor search page, there's a ton of them in seattle, and one in spokane, so I hope that helps

Oh, Lescalloy BG42 VIM-VAR is their full tradename for BG42 also.
 
I want everyone to know, I am not trying to trash anybody...

I was tired and a little frustrated...

After 4 days on the road with the Oregon show, I had two flat tires on the way home and spent 5 hours last night on the freeway miles from home...

So I'm not at the top of my game...:)

BTW, I had a great time in Oregon, met other forum members and saw a lot of great knives...I'll post my report later...

Right now I'm gonna' get some sleep...
