Looking for a solid knife maker to clean up a Chappel fixed blade, ie. perform a mirror polish, take out some surface abrasions, etc....all / any suggestions welcome....Thanks.

I am not a knife maker!..... but depending on how deep the scratches and abrasions are it may take quite bit of stock removal to get them out, changing the blade a little or a lot. You might consider a high grit satin finish if that would meet your needs. Most mirror finishes are a "one shot deal" and repairs are a little "iffy". That's just my opinion, not my experience, because as I said I am NOT a knife maker.

depends on what the condition of the blade surface is in. did someone try sharpening it with a motorized grinding wheel ? or will 2000 grit & re-buff do the trick? a clear photo would be helpful. i honestly do not know if it is "cool" to work on another makers work

The only two people I would trust with that are either Dan Lombardo (Rod's apprentice) or his son Bradley Chappel.
