Hey guys,Isnt Bladeforums great?Info on anything with a edge!Ok,Here's the deal.I mossied into my local pawn shop today cruising for knives and guns.Up in the gun line they have this sword.Ive never really been into them and know zilch about them. But i asked to see it,pulled it out from the sheath. And lo and behold there is some beautiful patterned damascus steel.A quick look revealed no makers mark.My impression is that it is old and Eastern.Other than that.I need help. They wouldnt give me a price because it had just came out and the boss was gone.Im going to hit them again tomorrow and buy it if its under a couple of bills. Can anyone tell me some sign that it might be worth significally more? Thanks in advance.OK,I know that is not enough information.I figure at under $200 the Damascus steel is worth it.If im able to buy it,ill throw up some pics and maybe get more response.Also.I have a giveaway going in the traditional forum. Its nothing great, but a good Kissing Krane soddie made in Germany.Jump on over there and put your name in the hat.

I think in order for anyone to give you an informed opinion you are going to have to post some pictures. Old and eastern could be anything from a tulwar to a katana. "Damascus" steel might be worth something and then again maybe not.

I realize that.I buy a lot of damascus and i know just the steel is worth some money. It's not the pattern on Stainless steel stuff.Ill see what he has to say and post up some pics if i get it.Thanks.
