Need to buy a daily-wear vest

I'm looking ahead to spring/summer, and need to find something less warm/bulky in an EDC vest. The pattern I like is:
Filson Cruiser Vest

The trouble is that it is SHORT. I know, the picture makes it look long, but it's not - it barely covers my belt. I want something longer, to conceal my on-belt EDC gear (handgun, flashlight, etc.) Ideally, the length should be roughly in the vicinity of my palm when my hands are hanging at my sides. In other words, no longer than a properly-fitted suit jacket would be, and within 1-1/2" shorter than that - absolutely NO shorter, however!

The style is perfect; I abhor the "tactical"/photographer/safari vest look, and much prefer the old-fashioned "waistcoat" style like the Filson.

It must be made from a sturdy material; the ScottEVest, for instance, is far too flimsy. (I'm used to Filson products; if you know the line, you know how they're built. That's what I demand in my clothing. I like to buy things once, and wear them for 10 years. Seriously!) Something around a 10oz cotton duck, perhaps a bit lighter than that, would be great - absolutely no stretchy or clingy material. Unlined, of course - this is for warmer weather, remember!

Finally, I would prefer it to be made in the U.S. That's not a deal-breaker, I'd just prefer it.

I've been looking online and haven't found anything. A couple of years ago, I remember going to the website of a small clothing company - memory tells me it was in New England, but I'm not positive - and saw something that was perfect. It had no visible pockets, but there were a couple of semi-circular slits on either side of the button front, about mid-chest level, that concealed pockets. It was quite strking, but of course I wasn't in the market at the time! I've been searching for hours online, and can't find anything even resembling what I recall.

So, has anyone out there seen something suitable? (Please, no links to "tactical" vests or any quilted/blanket-lined vests - those are not what I'm looking for!)

How about going to a local tailor or seamstress and having one made up for you. If you're willing to wear it for 10 years, even if it cost $200 for the perfect vest, that's still only $20 a year.

That way it fits perfectly, can be tailored to print less over your EDC gear, and will be exactly what you want. Added bonus: you're not only supporting "Made in USA", you're supporting locals.

I think Filson will make it custom sized for you for an additional fee.Maybe call them and see.

I've got a 10oz canvas Mark's WorkWear house vest, holds a surprisingly large amount of gear, mine stops just below the sheaths on my belt.
