I have a delica with the zytel handle. Its a great knife and I wouldn't even have to think about getting another spyderco. However I think the pocket clips on these needs to be improved. Mine got caught on something while I was working and was twisted sideways in the handle. This chipped the mortise that the clip sits in and allowed it to swivel from side to side. I fixed mine with a little epoxy since I don't care about ever switching the side its on.I like the hollow screw, its definitely a keeper. I think you should make the clips so the have a pin on the end just beyond the screw that goes into a second hole in the butt of the handle. That way the clip can't twist.Other than that its a great knife.
Does anyone else have an idea?

Fix it right the first time, use Baling Wire !

Thanx guys. We'll be redesigning that problem next week while I'm in Seki.

I have to admit,I like the old style zytel clips better.Since I carry in the left rear pocket, and have a fairly broad beam,My clip catches on stuff sometimes. With the Zytel,The clip always sprang back to the original position. With the metal one, I have to remove and re-bend it.I never had an old style break,so it must be fairly durable.
I know you lose right/left flexability, but it still is nice

David - the problem was excessive breakage. We modified the mold six times in a effort to come up with th "right' combination of shape, thickness, etc. But, alas, we could not come up with something that we were pleased with.

The modification is being made to the mold on the clip retaining area. Should see them out on the streets in 6 months. Though we haven't had many go sour, we felt the improvement was necessary. Just our way.
