Need to find a new supplier for D-2 steel

I need to find a reasonably priced DEPENDABLE supplier of precision ground D-2. I make folders so I need 3/32",1/16" and 1/8" thickness's. The supplier that I have been using would be perfect but I have never got an order on time from them. I have had to call them back every time just to find out there was a screw-up and the order was not shipped. I could live with a screw-up every now and then but not on every single order. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I've had good luck with flatground.com getting D2 quickly and without problems

NJBARONSTEEL.COM if he does not have percision ground D2 he will do it him self for you and he is very help full.
 
Be aware that D2 is like hotdogs. All manufacturers are free to put into it anything they want. Vanadium is an important component that is also very high right now, so some manufacturers may be inclined to skimp. The ingredients, the quality of the melt, the quality of the work performed by the mill can all have an effect on D2. I always make sure to get an American manufacturer and I get it with certs. I probably pay more than I really need to, but it really doesn't add up to much, perhaps another $5 per blade?

Nathan, I know you use a lot of D2 - is there a particular mfg/mill that you prefer? Have you used any of the Boehler D2? Thx
 
Flatground.com for regular D-2 they don't carry CPM. Always on time, and on the rare occasion they mess up an order they go out of their way to fix it.
