Need to find a shealth maker

Guy's,

I was passed a knife that is a big heavy bowie style with a Mule deer antler for a handle. This is one heck of a blade and the owner is a good friend of mine who most likely carried it for over 20 years.

What I'm looking for is a reference on a good shealth maker. The one this gent made has seen it's better days and I want to get a shealth made to replace it. The guy' had two of these knives, he gave me one so if possible I'd like to get a shealth made up like his (he had his name on the thing).

Anyway, it's a big military style knife, heck I don't even know what maker it is it's got the work Ontario stamped on the blade. Anywho, if any of you can recommend a good shealth maker I'd appreciate it. I intend to use the blade for a riding knife for elk hunting, and for a general purpose camp knife.

Thanks,
Spot

There are many great sheath makers who frequent these forums. Perhaps a picture of the original sheath would help.

Sandy Morrissey, or Chuck Burrows are two masters that come to mind. They both are very busy gentlemen, but if you shoot them an e-mail, maybe they can help.

If you run completely out of options, contact me (as a last resort), and we will see what we can do.

elvenbladesmith07,

That's the style and shape I'm looking for, although I think it'd be better to stick with a stitched or rivet'd edge. I plan to use the blade as a camp, and riding knife so the shealth will have to hold up to me falling on it.

That belt loop style is what I want, but I would like a snap across the thumb guard to keep her home, and a band across the top to keep the handle in against my belt.

Thanks,
Spot

In my opinion, Treestump Leather is the best. Chris Kravitt is a real nice guy and his sheaths are unbelievable. www.treestumpleather.com
Going to have him do some sheaths for me early next year.

Chris K replied to an email I sent him, and I liked his work (website) so I'm sending the blade his way.

Thanks for the help guy's.
