Ha! I'm considering stripping my BK-12 and I was wondering what I should use to remove the coating. I've seen Kleenstrip used often in various threads here but I'm having trouble finding it. Can any Canadian Beckerheads chime in on what they have used to remove the coating on their Becker knives.

Thanks!

Yep, get a gel or spray paint stripper from your hardware store. Make sure you grab a set of chemical resistant rubber gloves, too....and keep your hands off your face!

Use some rough sandpaper on the blade before you apply the stripper, get it nice and scratched up and go to town.

I just used some stuff for stripping furniture/paint/etc. Got it at the big box store. It did a good job. Took a razor blade to some of the more stubborn parts. Total time was about half an hour to forty five minutes. Most of that was letting the stripper work.
