Need to know about Kershaw handle material

I have a few white bone handle Kershaws from the mid 80s (mod #1040, 2110, 2120). I have been told that the scrimshawed ones are done on whale bone scales. Other folks and my research indicates that Thai water buffalo bone is the material. Does anyone know the real answer? Thanks Blade People

oops, my mistake.

Kershaw also had scrimshaw done on the water buffalo bone models.
