I had recently made a post about looking for the right knife for me, in which i gave the specifics of my needs. Now i need to compare the following knives for input, all plain blade not serrated. Spyderco: Delicas & Military. Benchmade: Griptilian & 950 Rift. What is the main differences & benefits. Below is my original post:

I was wondering if i could get some suggestion on the right knife for me. I am looking for a folder with a pocket clip 3-5 inches closed, needs to hold an edge well (not good at sharpening), i work on a farm, so lots of twine to cut, cardboard, letters to open, feed bags to open and the hardest thing to cut is the heavy duty weed eater line. I have a couple of Boker Magnums (found a deal a long time ago on some new ones) they do most things fine and seem to be pretty sharp, but i want that one blade to carry, that will last and last, with minimal maintenance. (Once again not good at sharpening blades)

Spyderco Military:
Don't personally own one yet [Blasphemy] but is a staple for the "working man", said by many. I imagine this knife can handle anything you throw at it. s30v is fairly easy to sharpen especially if you have a good sharpening kit. Big ergonomic handle, long FFG blade, sharp/narrow point for pierceing [those feed bags]. Easy deployment with and w/o gloves due to over sized thumb hole. STRONG liner lock. G10 is grippy.

Delica: Solid knife, vg10 is easy to sharpen, retention is great [s30v a bit better], frn handles with bi directional texture, ergonomic, seems kind of small for farm use, but that's only my ignorant guess [don't know what work on a farms like].

Griptlian: No experience with this knife.

Rift: Ergonomic knife, came to me dull, don't like the edge angle on the relief edge, blade is super thin ffg I think, reverse tanto is cool and adds some strength, super fast deployment, not really grippy but the ergos make up for that, tip of pocket clip is kind of sharp for my liking, lots of cutting edge.

I feel overall, although I do not own one have wielded one, I think the Military would be your best bet.

Military: Many like it, I don't. The handle is very long and just seems overkill. It has good blade steel (probably the best of the bunch) but it also has a liner lock which I also do not like. Some people don't have a problem but I have had problems with them and have told myself I will never buy another liner lock.

Delica: A good economic knife. A little smaller than the rest. The new full flat grind blades should be great cutters. VG10 is a good stainless, holds an edge pretty good while being easy to sharpen. I put it about like 154CM.

Griptilian: Another good economic knife. This is a great work knife and can take a beating. Griptilians are widely liked and as the name suggests, feels good in the hand. It also has the awesome AXIS lock. This is my favorite lock and I just about don't buy knives unless it has an AXIS or something similar like the ball bearing lock. (Maybe take a look at the Manix 2 which has the BB lock)

Rift: My absolute favorite knife of all that I have seen and held (which is a lot). I wouldn't trade mine for a Sebenza. Fits my hand great and the 3D machining in the G10 provides a secure grip while being smooth so it doesn't tear up pockets. Has a lot of blade for the handle length. The blade is almost as long as the military but with a much better handle length, for me. The AXIS lock lets you pull back the lockbar and flip the blade open and closed. You don't even need to use the thumbstud. I use the knife almost like a worry stone to keep my hands occupied while sitting around. It is also one of the strongest locks on the market. I would go with the Rift, obviously.

Good luck deciding.
