I have an opportunity to be a guest on a Hunting/Bow Podcast that is very well done and informative. I am aking for topic or subject ideas from you guys.

Here is what I have so far.

Steel Type
Grind Type
Creation Method
Blade Shape
Handle Shape
Stock Thickness
Handle Material

Carry Method or Ststem
Sharpening System
Storage and Care

What else would make for informative knife related questions or discussions??

Edge geometry might be a good talking point. The angles of the bevels/microbevel--though you probably have that covered under "Grind Type".

If folding knives get mentioned, perhaps lock styles? Though, that is liable to make some people quite animated.

Fit and finish, or maybe tolerances?

It looks like you have a pretty good list so far.

Hey there Brian. Still loving my Companion. :)

What about the different knife uses one might come across on a hunting/camping trip and which knife may be better suited at the tasks that come up.
i.e. gathering/splitting kindling or wood , preparing food , preparing camp , skinning/gutting/etc. :)

How about sharpening lessons?

[edited to add]: which sharpening tools and methods work best with which edge grinds and which steels

Sound's like you will be touching on just about everything. How long will the podcast be? And will you have a very knife educated base? Or will these be people that may be new to knives.

O and if you have time maybe you could do a little section on good knives from different economic points of view. Like cheap under $100-mid$250hight-$400-$500 or something like

Right now its just in the idea fase and its a bow use podcast that touches on all aspects of bow use and hunting with said device :)

I really enjoy that their show is so well organised and that the branch out into foot wear / scent prep / fitness / gear.

Anyway - I know you guys will have ideas to make the subject more well rounded.

Thanks! Here is the outline I came up with after input :)
