Need : Vista - Freeware - Cd burning software

Yea , I know Vista..... :barf:

It's my work PC and I have not had time to upgrade to XP yet.
See if my machine here was XP I would just be able to burn my CD's from Explorer as I do from home.

So , I'm looking to see if any of you folks know of some CD burning software for Vista.

Reqs -
1. Freeware
2. Not related to Nero

I use that as a backup to Nero.


ImgBurn supports all the Windows OS's - Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista and 2008 (including all the 64-bit versions). If you use Wine, it should also run on Linux and other x86-based Unixes.

Oh and let's not forget the best thing about it.... it's 100% FREE ;-)

Alcahol 120% should do everything you need including image mounting on virtual drives.

Enagaged fingers before brain there, its not a freeware package.
 
Thx folks , tried Infra and it didnt work , ran outta time to try the rest.


I use Alcohol 120% all the time but not for this purpose.

I only want to be able to make mp3 cd's on my work PC but Vista.... grrr I wont go into it.. I just need to take it home over the weekend and upgrade to XP again.

Like I said , I dont even need a third party prog to burn on XP.

iTunes should take care of that rebeltf, last time I played around with it I had the option of encoding WMP into mp3. Its also free :)
 
According to PricelessWare the top CD/DVD burner software chosen by alt.comp.freeware for 2007 (latest) were -

CDBurnerXP Pro

and

DeepBurner Free (free, but this is Adware)

List of CD/DVD burning software on Softpedia.com -
can sort by downloads descending and filter by Freeware in the boxes to the right of the screen

ImgBurn 2.4.0.0

CDBurnerXP 4.0.022.370

Burnatonce 0.99.5

were the top 3 by downloads (not included is Adware which is "Free" -but may have annoying ads....).
Without any filtering Nero takes the top 5 spots by downloads - so I guess it's the most popular.
