Hey guys,
You have all been a help in the past with my requests and I thank you all.
Today I am in need of some silver wire inlay inspiration.
Lets see what you got.
Thanks
Mace

Google up Jay Hendrickson and Joe Keeslar knives. Rehoboth has a whole page of Jay's stuff and there are some others out there that are pretty good looking Ars Cultri always has a few. Don't you have a copy of Master of the Forge? Tsk, Tsk:D I'm going to TRY to do a simple border with the slanted stripe and do the two tone dye job like Jay does on the ST24 I am working on. I'm not ready to try the complex scroll or shell inlay/carving on a real knife yet...lol. Are you going to try some wire for Blade?

Here are a few different knives from my collection with wire inlay

oops, just read jdm and maybe it is not this type of inlay you want so lets add a couple more at the bottom and decide what you like lol

On the mastersmith test are you required to use wire in the handle of the dagger?

Yep........twisted wire and a fluted handle. I may be wrong, but I think Mace might be looking for Moran style flat silver wire inlay pics. There is a pic of a Moran ST24 with the simple boder inlay with an acorn in the "post your favorite customs" thread/

Kevin. I just realized that you designed that last peice from Hendrickson. I think that is my favorite one of his. Good job man!

Thanks guys! I am looking more for the "Moran" style inlay rather than the wrap...but still very cool pics.
Would love to see more if ya got em.:D
Thanks
Mace

I can understand wanting to stick within a certain style, but I hope you can get some inspiration from old world pieces as well. There are lots of examples of high quality wire inlay on the Russian Art Knife Gallery such as this one:

Take a look at old guns for some outstanding examples of this art's zenith as well!
