Hey hogs, whos into NCAA div 1 football. My boy is going to the AF Academy to play linebacker this year. He needs your support. The Academy is in the Mountain West Conference. He needs some swine support. He just won double gold in the discus and shot at regionals in track and field here in texas. He is an underdog since he is only 5'11" and 219 lbs. He attends the Texas State championship meet in 3 weeks as the favorite in both the discus and shot. As a grad gift, i gave him my first Busse (SAR-4 SE). He is now and forever a Hog. Root this kid on, he needs you guys support.

Suweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Sling it like you mean it

How far does he throw?

I was a shot and discus guy in both high school and college. Maybe I should send my INFI rimmed wooden discus down to Texas for your son to use. . . It is nuclear powered and seems to take off on its own once it hits the 150 ft. mark!!!!

Best of luck to your boy!. . .

Shot put tip of the week. . . . Too much "stick 'em spray" sounds like velcro when you release the shot and has been known to peel off fingerprints!!!!. . . .

Jerry :D

Well, of course.:)

Taught physics there in the 80's ... I think I'm still on the faculty list as an Asst. Professor.:D I got a few linebackers ... and a few quarterbacks ... through the mandatory E&M physics course during my time on campus.

Believe me, it wasn't easy.

You're giving me dreams of a future Olympan throwing an INFI discus. Time for some FEA? Time for some discus engineering?

At regionals today, 183 ft in discus, and 58 ft in shot.

Sounds like he is well on his way  Better still, sounds like he has a great dad too

I wish both of you guys continued success.

Good god man:eek: Thats awesome right there!!! He should win state with those numbers.

And I though my measley 45 ft shot in HS was pretty good!

Hope he has good luck with the football, its a whole differant world from HS ball for sure. I know he can do it, he sounds like a tough one...and he's sure got plenty of strength!

I hope the best for your son...I can't imagine how proud you must be:thumbup:

I can imagine how proud you are, both of my boys went to college on Football scholarships and one went to the Military School, the Citadel, in Charleston, S.C. I am still very proud of all of my kids, that is something you never lose. Best of Luck to him and will watch for him. We will need to know what number he has once he starts playing so we can keep up.

He is the favorite in discus, his best toss this year was 192 ft and has broken 200 ft a couple times in practice. He should medal in shot, but i think 60 ft plus will be required to win gold.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Dont know his number yet, probably wont know till around August.

I hope he does well, and I hope he delivers some bone jarring tackles against those snooty TCU types who seem to think they are elite or something.:D

Its funny you say that. TCU was recruiting him but decided he should be one inch taller to be a good ball player. A few other big 12 schools told him the same thing. He has a 39 inch vertical leap and runs a 40 in 4.62. He placed 10th in the nation at the nike combines and first in texas. This is out of 30,000 athletes nationally. I really matters to alot of schools that you are 6 ft and not 5'11. He has a huge chip on his shoulder that i dont even think INFI could widdle away at. I cant wait for TCU
