I have a few Busse knives and I love them. I am however not as well educated on the 8 billion models that are offered by Busse. I'm looking for a 4-5 inch, EDC/Survival knife that will last. Legal carry here in TX is 5.5" so I don't want to go over that.

Suggestions? And if you have something for sale, let me know. Thanks!!!

The BOSS Street is available directly from Busse right now, and seems to fit your needs. It's more handle heavy and thicker than I prefer, but if you are looking for a beefy knife, it's right up your alley. It has a 4.25" blade, so it's under your legal carry restriction.

If you want something even beefier, the BATAC would be a monster choice - it's a big sucker for only a 5" blade. Or, on the other end of the spectrum, something like a leaner meaner is pretty light and thin.

There are many more options that fit your general range of sizes, but some of those are more rare or difficult to find. For a solid user that won't break the bank, you probably want to go with the commonly available stuff.

I would pick up the Boss street while it's still offered on Bussecombat.com. I picked one up for a new EDC blade.

If you want to fill the survival knife role better with some all around heavier tasks than the BATAC would be the best like MM said.

The Resiprene-C handled knives from Busse-SwampRat-Scrapyard have their adherents, including me.

I would recommend looking into the Scrapyard Scrapper 5 LE, which is INFI steel. The S5 LE is the middle knife in picture, Busse Basic 5 on top, Swamp Rat Bog Dog on bottom, all have Res-C handles and would, in fact, meet your length and durability specs.

For micarta handles, besides the suggestions already given, you could consider the Swamp Rat Dog Skinner (D2 optional), Ratmandu (4.75" blade) or Howling Rat Little Mischief (HRLM), all in SR101 steel from Swamp Rat.

Swamp Rat Dog Skinner D2 steel IIRC top and SAR Rat lower

Consider the BOSS Street - it's well within your legal limit and, more importantly, it's available now at the Busse Combat site for a great bargin price. It looks to become a Busse Classic!

Also, on the secondary market, the SAR-4 will get you even closer with a stout 4.75" blade that can even chop in a pinch because of its handle configuration - a great under-5" woods carry knife that's also a favorite of mine for EDC belt or bag carry.
