Im looking for a replacement busse for my Buck paklite. I would like to find a busse with a cutting blade length around 3'' to 3 1/2" long. I have looked all over the internet at different busse and have found a few that i have like but its hard to tell the size of them.

Some of the thing i will be doing with the knife
Skinning/field dressing deer
fish Bait cutting
Wire stripping
Small enough to Edc
Food prepping

Here is a list of some of the knives Ive seen that i like.
Swamp warden
Game warden
Sar 4
Hrlm(like alot)

So if some of you could give me some specs on some of the smaller busse i would appreciate your help.

The Rodent Solution may be worth a look also.
There is a sticky on the bladeforums Swamp Rat Forum that lists a lot of knife specs.

The Active Duty, Game Warden, Rodent Solution, & SAR3 would probably be good choices. The Swamp Warden is skeletonized with no handle and is a good choice for a necker, but might not be great for long use sessions in the comfort category. The HRLM is 4" in blade length (but a great knife), and the SAR4 is longer than that and rather handle heavy (but still a good knife).

Rodent Solution has a good long comfortable handle. 3.5 blade from tip to handle
SAR3 is a great EDC size and comfortable in the hand. 3.25" blade from tip to handle
AD is a well proven multi task knife and also great for EDC. 3.5" blade from tip to handle
The GW is another great style. It comes in various thicknesses, and for what you want, the .14", .17", or .19" thick versions might be preferred. 3" blade from tip to handle

Look at the Cultellus, AKA "Culti"
Great at everything you mentioned. Great great great knife.

I like the rodent I looks about perfect. thanks for the info on the specs.
Plus it is currently available in the store:thumbup:

Picking up various color combinations for Christmas presents. That is a Ratmandu on top.
The Rodent Solution handle feels awesome for a small knife.

SHIVA REX!!! :D

I like the SAR 3s, some of the newer ones are gorund thinner than the LE's (which were very thick, especially at the tip, compared to the new stag handled one in the past ganza).

When you start looking at the Active Dutys, you have choices. Either satin or coated, convex, hollow ground, or SLUT. The ADs are very comfortable.

May have posted my CABS. Damn phone is to small and my hands are cold!

Thanks for all the help. I will be picking up one of the Rodent solution. Do they come with sheaths. If not do you know where i can get a kydex sheath for it.

It doesn't come with a sheath. Several guys here do kydex. I just received a kydex pocket sheath for a Rodent Solution from BadgerCustom today that works well. Check the Busse/Swamp Rat/ Scrap Yard sales sub forum.

You might wanna look into the HACK series. I've always thought that those blades were awesome, and they're generally within your size requirement. If you wanna go Bussekin, check out the Scrap Yard Scrapivore.

my edc is a skeleton warden, comfy to carry and comfy to use. The edge is plenty tough, even after a reprofile.

Since you mentioned the HRLM, yes, it's a good one that can do all those task and you can beat the living crap out of it without worry, as it's a hard use knife on top of that. Check out the new Basic 4 from Busse, it's look's to be a good one also.
