I loved and carried the squirt for a year before discovering the Sebertool m4, and have recently wanted to find it a purpose since I felt bad about no longer using it.

It was a spur of the moment impulsive modification that I could have given more thought first because they ended up finer than intended, but what's done is done.
If I don't find the desire to occasionally carry it, at the very least it should be a good little panfishing multitool.

I didn't touch the sides because I think they're thin enough, I just made them pointier.
All things considered I think that was probably the smart move to retain as much strength as I could, and I'm not sure I have any less confidence in their strength because I always used it more like hemostats or tweezers anyways.

That's cool. Anytime someone takes the plunge and decides to grind, drill, hack, sand, dye, or otherwise modify their "thing" I think it deserves respect. The mod might not be to someone else's liking, but you've made it your own. Also, impulsive mods are usually the best. :)

Soooo many times I've used the fine pliers on the squirt for forceps and corse tweezers. Maybe almost as much as they get used for pliers. Ever since the squirt has replaced the classic in my daily EDC carry stuff, I find the small pliers a very handy thing to have. The squirt pliers has more of a stronger grip than the SAK tweezers, of which often can't grip enough to keep from sliding off something stubborn. Your mod makes them even more of a tweezers/hemostat kind of tool. It kind of opened the mission window a bit wider.

I don't know if I would have the stones to take it to a grinder like you did, but I applaud your efforts. Very nice for a light duty pincher!

Looking at them closely I noticed I didn't get one side perfectly square across the top , and in correcting that I decided to round the tops off.
Doing so i touched the side a little in one spot so I bit the bullet and narrowed the tips since I had to remove that mark I maid anyways.
I'm happy with the result, just not happy that I failed to achieve what I originally had in mind.

Doing this modification reminds me of the first time I used my squirt.
There was some string caught up in the caster of my shop stool and nothing else I had on hand could have gotten it out.

At that moment and for that tight space precision task I thought the squirt was about the greatest thing ever.
That came to mind before jumping into the modification and I realized fine precision work is where the squirt shines for me so I felt less apprehensive about going through with it.

I think it looks fantastic! I would say that in small sized tool like this the thin tips add more value than the blunt factory ones.

That was I was thinking.
I figure if they're going to be finer and less robust than my Sebertool m4 they might as well be really fine and precise.

I have been carrying my squirt at home lately, and this modification has really breathed new life into it for me.
I have found it to be an excellent lazing around the house after work kind of multitool.
On my days off or after an easier work day I'm much more active and doing things where the stouter Sebertool m4 is beneficial when a multitool is called for, but when I come home from work many days I'm beat and don't do much.
I'm often napping in my recliner or maybe tinkering with the odd small thing here and there while I watch TV or a movie, and my precise needle nose squirt has been impressing me lately.
I've had a real busy tougher work schedule the past few weeks, so I have just kept my knife flashlight and squirt in on me when I get home.
Assuming a nap or two are inevitable I don't even have my pocket organizer or phone in my pockets, I will always feel naked without a dedicated small pocket knife but I ccould actually see myself warming up to the idea of relying on the squirt for it's knife on those days.

Most days will probably still be Sebertool days, but I seem to have found a new life for my squirt.
