Needs Work w/ smooth g10 tortion bar removed

Always wanted to like the needs work but the ao and poly handles turned me off. Been after a g10 one for a bit and after snagging one and making a few tweaks, its perfect for me. Well, it still needs a tip up option, butb ill get to that eventually. I've worked on this enougb for one night.

How is the blade retained closed if the torsion bar is removed?

That G-10 does look nice. I have one that STR converted to tip up with a deep carry clip. It greatly improved how it rides. My only issue with the knife is that I'm just not crazy about how the handle feels so it doesn't see any use. I like a longer thinner handle better.
 
These have a a detent system. Its not like the leek where the tortion bar keeps keeps the knife closed.
