I'm new and sick of wasting all my steel. I have an oregan blade maker grinder with 1.5hp 3 phase motor and vfd.
1. What grit and type of belt do i start my bevel.
2. What grit and type of belt do i finish my bevel with before heat treat.
3. When I grind my bevel in a jig the bevel gets wider as i get to the end the blade. Even though i hold it steady and pull.
4. After heat treat, what grit and type of belt do i use on bevel.
5. The blade bounces as i pull it across the belt if I freehand grind.
6. What type, brand, and grit belts should I buy.
Yes, I read the noob threads. Still don't know anything.
Any help would be appreciated. I just got my knife steel in and feels like I'm going to crap with my bevels.
