i'm wondering if it's possible to have some items made purely out of solid wood (neem especially or the other woods) be made? possibly letter openers or stands, or ...

i love the smell of the wood, and the grain patterns of the wood selections over all is very nice. just a thought.

one of my small khuks right now is enjoying the company in terms of artistic placement of my little collection of buddhas and singing bowls and chestnut go stones (i know, culture clash). it's like a shrine almost :)

All I know is that curly neem the other day was fabulous! I would love to make a table out of the stuff. Lots of the woods HI uses are truly beautiful though. I wish we could get them. I hope Yangdu has luck with the genus. There is a place here that has MEGA exotic selection. I wonder...

Once saw a guan yin (Buddha's student) carved out of sandal wood (fragrant incense wood) about 10" tall, but couldn't afford it......:(

i get mine from a once a year folk festival in easter NY state. the people who sell them either goto nepal now and then or have them shipped in. modern manufacture, not antiques, but good enough. the prices are very good too. located in vermont - i can probably dig up their info, but you're better off listening to them in person - some you won't like, some you will - it's very personal.
