Negative feedback left even though no transaction took place

I am starting this thread to rectify an issue between myself and sanddragger28. I recently claimed a knife in his thread and had to quickly back out due to an unexpected emergency. I messaged him and apologized for my backing out and explained why. He never responded and is just now leaving negative feedback, thus tainting the reputation I am attempting to build on BF. I did not retaliate and simply would like this feedback removed. I am new here and don't want any hard feelings. I am under the impression that his actions are a violoation of the forum rules.

I normally would not leave negative feedback for such a transaction unless I felt it was truly warranted. I have been on this forum for almost 10 years and have never had any problems with anyone. You come here for 2-3 weeks and already have issues with a transaction. I feel your message was untruthful and should have been handled much differently considering you welched on two of my items. You stated that you had to back out because you had a financial emergency come up which is fine no problem. However, is that really what happen? How can a guy who is backing out of two of my purchases because of a financial reasons go and purchase an expensive CRK Custom Sebenza in the exchange just a few days later? You could have paid me 3-4 days later and honored your purchase obligation and everything would have been good to go but thats not what happen. After seeing you purchase the Sebenza I feel your message originally sent to me backing out was untruthful which is why you received negative feedback.
Please note I'am only posting here because I was messaged by Trexmix94 that this thread was opened by him. I am not responding anymore regarding this issue. Moderators please do what ever you feel is the right thing to do. Thank you

Trexmix94 Sebenza purchase 4 days later:

Hello,
Sorry to do this, but I have to go ahead and pass on the AALB. I just got off work and I had a financial emergency come up. Sorry to waste your time. Hope this wasn't a huge inconvenience for you.

He may have been in the wrong but having been here 10 years you should know that no transaction took place therefore no feedback should be left.

Rules are pretty clear-
Buying:
1. Be 100% sure that you can financially afford to purchase the item before offering to do so. If you cannot commit 100% to buying the item, then move along. Be responsible and use your best judgement. Do not create any undue burden on people trying to sell stuff.
7. If you must back out of a deal, it is YOUR responsibility to communicate with the other person WHY you are unable to complete the transaction. Make sure this happens BEFORE any money or items have been exchanged. Problems should be attempted to be resolved between the persons involved, before Feedback threads are started.

Feedback:
3. We will not edit feedback for you unless it's an obvious error (ie negative rating). You can report it using the black triangle button on the iTrader page and be patient.
4. Retaliatory negative feedback ratings can earn you an infraction. Getting pissed off because a deal didn't go though is no reason to try and ruin someones rep. You are expected to conduct yourself in a mature and responsible manner, failure to do so will result in warnings or infractions as necessary.
5. If a deal did not happen, there is no iTrader Feedback to leave. Sorry if you were inconvenienced, but life is full of disappointments. As long as you are not out any items or money, move along. Consider improving the terms of your sales threads / read the sellers terms carefully in order to avoid this before buying.

In closing:
Welching on a deal is looked down upon and can quickly ruin a buyers rep.
However feedback was clearly not allowed since no transaction took place.
The negative feedback should be removed.

I would have been fine paying you 3-4 days later. I didn't know that was an option, as I never received a response from you. I sold a few knives and thus had money to purchase the other knife a few days later. Whether you believe what I'm saying or not, you still violated the rules because you were upset. I just wish we could have worked it out through messages before you left hurtful feedback.

Here's where you went wrong sanddragger. Retaliation is becoming a serious problem and could very well cause the system to be removed. Worse yet is the harsh penalty for misusing/abusing the system.

Next time use the GBU, that is why its there.

You nailed it perfectly D.

This is exactly what GBU is for, not the iTrader feature. No deal occured, negative feedback should not be left.

Seems obviously clear the negative feedback should be removed...[emoji848]

^ Hopefully his negative feedback, will be removed? :)

I know that I don't need to be telling you of all people, Spark, but there is definitely a real learning curve to this place. Tremix94, is a brand new paying member. I think that it would be a very nice gesture, to give this new member a break & remove his unwarranted, retaliatory negative feedback. It would be real bummer, to have to start your BladeForums career, off in this manner.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone for your comments and your help in trying to get this issue resolved. I know Spark is a very busy guy and I have faith that he will eventually take care of this. Here's hoping that patience and reason will pay off!
