I wish all of this name calling and thread bashing would just go away. We all are here for our love of knives and the wilderness. We all have different opinions and views, but I know we have alot more in common. Latly it is Jerry Busse and Jeff Randall bashing, and now Ron Wood. I have learned a lot on Blade Forum, and lot of the information was from the people I just mentioned. I own several Busse knives and love them, but I also own other makes and love them to. I have been on Greg Davenports Simpley Survival training course and learned alot, but I'm saving my dollars so I can go on Jeff Randall's adventure. I have heard there is alot of good infomation on Ron Hood's videos, and I will pick a couple up for sure. It's all no big deal, If you just hate someone here, or hate there products, dont buy them or post in the thead about them.

Like my mother always said, " If you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything."

I just had to get this off my chest. Thanks for listening

I couldn't agree more. All the lies and name calling are a bunch of boring crap. I do believe there is room for honest, mature criticism, if it is presented in a fair and friendly manner. All this childish bickering stinks.

After today I think Jerry and my bloodletting is over with. He and I had a pleasurable conversation for over 2 hours today on the phone.

I am rolling on my floor laughing!!:D :D
You guys are too funny!! This is another reason I read Bladeforum.com - for the drama!

I am glad most things are well.

i agree with you all that there may be uncalled for negativity. but the silence of the member of the forum allows this to happen. if the members were to agressively bash the trolls en mass every time that they appear then this send a negative message to them that their comments are unwelcome and uncalled for.

Jeff,

I look forward to the day I can say the same thing that Jerry did.

Ron,

Maybe I misunderstood the post but you and I buried the hatchet a long time ago.

All of this ordeal brings to mind someone I consider a good friend, even though he was not liked by some folks in this industry: Bob Taylor

Man, everyone either loved that guy or hated him. I happened to be one of those that loved him even though he was controversial as hell in a lot of folks eyes. He said what was on his mind, regrdless of who got pissed, and would just as soon get in someone's face with what he thought to be right as say it behind their back. I have a LOT of respect for that man and miss him at all the trade shows. Another reason I missed him is he had the only smoking booth in the show. Even though the whole hall was non-smoking, Bob Taylor said "f*ck 'em, I paid for the booth and will do as I damn well please." Wished there were more Bob Taylor attitudes in this business.

... and state that in certain cases, resolving issues with one individual doesn't make "all well" in other instances.

Having said that, I applaud the efforts of those who have cleared up their issues and agree that there is no need to continue this type of very visible and public feuding.

Jeff,

I think I'd almost forgotten You and I had words at one time. Our hatchet is long since buried and rusted away. Much of that was just for the fun of the discussion anyway, as I remember. Age does that to a fella.

Re: Bob... I agree. He was always a kick to talk to and funnier than hell. He was up front about his thoughts with his words.

I am much too busy running the business to maintain a running feud with anyone. If I felt strongly about something I could get testy but the fact is... I don't.

Thanks everyone!
You have all cotributed to my continuing education. Some by being great examples of dimplomacy and tact. Others by showing what I wish NEVER to become!:barf: As my friend reminds his kids, "If you aren't going to be part of the solution, DON'T be part of the problem.":p

Don't panic, it only makes it worse!

Glad to have been some part of that equation ;)

I look at internet forums the same way I do television. If I don't like what I'm seeing (or reading) I usually just change channels. No one is forcing me to read it. I equate this to all the do-gooders trying to get playboy and other great magazines pulled from the convenience store shelves.

The funny part is..... a lot of folks will squeal about all the fighting threads, but many of them have read every post and even followed it to other forums, sort of like the folks that want playboy pulled from the news-stands :)

The funniest thing on this software (and ours too since we run the same software) to me is the "report this post to a moderator" link. I know, I know... we are just trying to create an environment that is free from flaming attacks and trolls, but there is a huge difference between that and serious, and sometimes heated, disagreement. Maybe that's the reason the Vanadis 4 thread never got closed. Although there was a lot of heated discussion and a lot of comical remarks, no one there was a troll. Actually if this thread and others would have been closed down then all the good that did come out of it may not have happened.

I think it's time for a group hug :D
