I got a medium hunter in S30V for Neil Blackwood aka Dr. Lathe. I have always been impressed with Neil's work. If you don't have one of Neil's knives you need to. I am not exaggerating when I say that he is currently my favorite fixed blade knife maker. Hopefully he will soon be my favorite folder maker as well. :D

The S30V in the medium seems to perform like crazy. I like it so much that I wanted something a little smaller for EDC. So I asked Neil to work his magic. What he came up with is what he calls a "hybrid". Small hunter blade with a small tactical handle. Anyway, I can't wait to get this beauty. I have a feeling she wont leave my side.

Neil sent me this pic tonight:

Neil's photography isn't bad either.

Pant, Pant, Pant....! :D
That is vewwy, vewwy, Suh-WEET!
As usual for Neil... "Perfection-In-Action."
His work never ceases to amaze me: Craftsmanship Par Excel-lahn-tay...

Nahh--it's a crummy knife, the finish stinks, and the photo is lousy....

NOT!!!!!:p

What else can I add to this? Anything but accolades for Neil's work is not being honest. Good work!

What are the dimensions on that one? I love it! That would make a great style for a neck knife.

I wish I had about 20 of these packed up and ready to go!!

Dennis,
Thanks for posting the picture, I also put it up on the main page of my website!

I've made several of these before this one. I think forum member Bandaidman (Dan) might have actully been the first one here on the forums to get one, in Stellite?? I've made myself two over the past few years. My 440C prototype got lost while 4 wheeling. My STELLITE one is in 140 feet of water, WAY off Boca Grande :( THAT HURT!!!

It makes for a good all around knife and a practially indestructable little hunter. The handle holes provide great grip even when messy but they will SLIDE of a boat deck in left unattended ;)

Thanks for the compliments!

Neil

Wow that's nice...thanks for the pictures.

yup, its in stellite :)

Great knife. I like the way Neil shaped the handle. I must admit I was suprised at how slick G10 feels when wet but the way Neil makes the handle keeps your grip remarkably secure. Keep in mind I use this knife almost exclusively around water. The small hunter blade shape is a bit large for a bird and trout knife but is ideal for bass fishing, game, or salt water fishing.

It has also held up well through its first year of use and looks almost new despite being in salt and guts etc.....

Get one of his neck sheathes for it Dennis.....very handy outdoors (little big for around town though)

The mailman delivered it today. What can I say about it except it is the usual Blackwood perfection. Rush Limbaugh is not the only one with talent on loan from God. I think Neil also has some. ;) The ergonomics are great. She will be my EDC.

Great pic!

I'm next in line, I hope!;) Dennis, I've talked to you and Neil a few times, but just couldn't decide which one to get. With a picture like that, what else is there to think about?

This will be my first knife from Neil, so I can't speak on the quality yet. But everytime I've talked to him he's been the nicest person to deal with. I'll post a review once I've recieved and used it.
