I just finished up the Book American Gods:thumbup: . One of the best books i have ever read. Great plot, great characters, and just the way he put it all together was amazing. This is deffinetly not the last book by him i will be reading:thumbup: .

What other books by him do you guys/girls like? I have smoke and mirrors, Neverwhere, and stardust and plan on getting around to reading them soon. Any comments one any of those or others?

Anansi boys is a follow up to that book. Differnet characters, maybe even a different world, but similar ideas.
BTW, Has ANYONE seen Mirrormask yet?

Neil gaiman is awesome. I've also read american gods, but I like his sandman comics better.

Didn't think Mirrormask had even been released yet! Hmmn, wow! Just checked & it's theatrical release was October 28th, it must have come & gone pretty quick because I don't remember it being listed locally...

MirrorMask came and went from an art theater downtown while I was laid up with my knee surgery. It was the only run that the DC area had. DAMN!

Oh, and BTW for you dirty old men out there, it was not THAT kind of art theater.

It didn't even show up in the local theaters here. :grumpy:

You may also want to find the version of Stardust that has the Charles Vess illustrations in it. Do not buy the cheap paperback version, hold our for the Vess illustrations. They raise the book to the level of a true fairie tale classic. The story is, indeed, a classic, but the illustrations make it ever so much better.

only played at a little arthouse theater for a few weeks but I saw it twice with the Mrs. It's coming out on DVD on Feb. 14.

I am addicted to "The Sandman" and all of its spin-offs. I particularly like the twp Death spin-offs and the entire series with Lucifer. I love the concept that Lucifer gets tired of running Hell and so retires to play piano in a club in L.A.

Notwithstanding his longtime legend in comics and books, I regret to say that the only piece of literature I was able to read from him was "American Gods". It was however a great ride when I read it some years back. The concept of "soma" (if I remember it right) as the food substance of the gods and "being the ultimate best that you can be" got to me.

Think its time I re-read it.
