Does anyone have pics of a stripped Skinny ASH and a CG NMFBM?

Been thinking of stripping mine and I just want to know how much work lies beneath that coating. Nice bead blast finish below? Riddled with dimples and deep grind marks? Really want to know what I'm getting myself into before its too late :D

I stripped the coating off my Mili-Meaner,,,,,,, lotsa dimples,,,, lotsa elbow grease removing them,,,,,you strip it you will thin the blade a bit. I like the green coatingh on my SkinnyAsh and the Sage on my NMSFNO so I really don't know what lies beneath,,,,I would expect dimples,,,,,how many or how deep you will find out. Good luck with your project. Maybe Jeremy will chime in,,,,, he's stripped many more blades than I .

The CGFBM's look pretty nice stripped, but in a "Built like good russian tool" sort of way. You will find a dark grey decarb layer, noticable milling marks (and some smearing from a possible dull bit) in the CNC milled bevel, mine has some barely noticable surface grinding marks on the flats on it as well.

Thanks guys.

I'm just wondering because my saber ground AD was pretty nice on the main bevel, there were some very light CNC marks, but it was bead blasted over nicely. The SAR5 on the other hand was very rough in comparison, it has a convex bevel instead of a flat one, but so does the Skinny ASH and NMFBM.

Any word on how the rounded edges from the Nuclear Meltdown treatment looks under the coating?

I stripped my CG NMFBM. It wasn't exactly pretty underneath the coating. The rounded spine had a series of transverse ridges running down the length of the spine. The blade had grind marks and dimples. It took some work with the HF belt grinder to clean it up to a utilitarian satin finish, but I expected that, so no regrets. I have pics somewhere  maybe still on a camera or hiding in a folder on the PC. :o

Yes... strip them all!!!

Here is a NMSFNO I stripped... It was pretty smooth... with some INFI dimples which aren't very noticeable due to the dark grey/blackish primer layer that Jerry confided is comprised mostly of Johnny Walker Blue.

It looks bitchin! Go for it...

NO REGRETS!!!

I like them stripped. Not a coating kind of guy. Also, the bare steel make the blade look larger IMO.

The NMSFNO looks pretty good stripped, if only the NMFBM was the same, she'd be nekid in a second.

How about the Skinny Ash1? I take it it's not as tidy as the NMSFNO underneath.

That's a lota damn knife.

The sanded scales look like the inferred vision of the alien in the movie Predator.
