Well you guys knew this was coming. I just didn't think it would be so soon. I have to take it easy on my knives. :p

I just stripped what was left of the coating as per usual method. Then took a scotch-brite wheel & drill to it GALAXYTECH style. ;) I will go over it a bit more tonight but I have to get the kiddies settled down. I like it a lot though. I can't wait to see how well it slices with out the friction from the coating.

What do you guys think?

I LOVE it!  I have a tan HD and I wasn't sure about doing that to mine (already done it on my black one) but I think I will follow you on that one. VERY nice work :)

Wow, that looks good! My HD is making little nervous squeeks. :D

Knida a funny story that led me to this. I used a permanent marker on the edge for my Apex Edge Pro session. The marker usually always comes off with some simple cleaner and warm water. Nothing worked last night. So I brought home some grafitti remover I use at school when our finest decide everyone needs to see their nickname. I just wiped the edge a little and the marker came right off. Then I went to rinse it off. But then I noticed that the coating had become sticky/gummy  where the cleaner had touched it. Even aftewr letting it try it still felt tacky. Then I did a test cut on some 1/2 inch diameter rope. That alone removed a big chunk of coating. Man that stuff is strong. So I decided that it was time to just do the whole blade. So there you are. :o

LOL! Well I'm glad that worked out so well for you! I would have been sweatin' at first though. I need to give my stripped black HD a Scotchbrite wheel treatment. That really seems to make a big difference

Yep, I took the coating off mine a long time ago, much better.

Now for the sheath question. (Maybe I should do a separate thread on this?) I have a kydex sheath for this HD. Before the nekkidness it fit great. Once the coating was stripped it is a bit loose. Enough to where it will fall out if I turn the sheath up side down and give it a shake.

Is there an easy fix for this? You know, like heating it up a bit with hot water or a hair dryer and pinching the sheath in a bit. ;)

Excuses excuses :p just admit it: You like the stripper! Nice one by the way....I may have to do the same with mine :D I kinda like the "beat up" look though.

Did you ever post any pictures of patina? I think you wrote somewhere that you had kept one blade with an ATV (?) and a part of it had antiqued :)

Hmmm. Years from now I wonder what the " Antique Road Show " would say about patina on an INFI??? New thread discussion?

Looks good Tyrkon!

Concerning your sheath --- is it a friction retention (blade retention) sheath? If so, sometimes you can tighten it significantly just by cranking down on the screws holding your tec-lock (just to the point where the rubber washers bulge a bit. You might give that a try...
