Has anyone seen these Nelson Freedom Clips from Atlas46? They're made to save your pocket from getting chewed up by your tape measure but would probably work just as well for knife clips.

Definitely not something I'd clip to my pocket everyday before clipping my knife, but if I'm about to tackle a job around the house or doing something I know will have me taking my knife in and out of my pocket I think it would definitely save some wear on my jeans (pockets are always first to go for me, lol). Maybe guys that use their knife everyday at work might find it handy to clip on everyday.

I actually had my wife sew a patch of leather over the lip of the pocket of one of my pairs to try and save them from my knives. It worked well enough, but ultimately I didn't like how the leather patch looked. The Nelson Freedom Clip would only work when you have it on, but I like that I could detach it if I wanted.

Pretty cheap at 5 bucks. Or you can pay more and have it customized to your liking. Also from reading reviews, one of the things people like the most is it makes unclipping and reclipping your tape measure (knife) very easy and smooth.

I thought maybe some might find it interesting. I'm probably going to pick one up to try out.

As someone who has shredded their fair share of pockets, I dig the the idea.

However I don't think this model would work as ideally with knives as it does tape measures. The clip principles are the same yet a tape measures clip generally has a wider opening arc to clip on whereas most knives clips are tighter and don't offer as much of an opening. I'm sure it would work but it may open up the clip more than I like and may even stretch them a bit so they're too loose on regular pants.

Neat idea that'll tackle a knife nuts problem.

I thought the same too, about it not working well for a knife clip. But after looking at some photos, its actually pretty flat and folded over tightly, much more so than your standard deep carry clip. It also has little nubbins that grip your pocket.

You can kind of see the fold over in this pic

Totally get what you're saying though!
