I saw this dagger on the web and fell in love. I called this store and asked for the price. They said 300,000 Japanese yen. This is about 2,600 in US dollars. They broke my heart, but someday....

There are two different knives in those photos.

I do not know enough about Nemoto Tomoyuki to know what his knives normally sell for.

Neither do I. I do see that they are very simple designs, and grinds. Not highly finished, nor are guards fitted. I can't see anything to justify the cost of a Loveless, (from the shop price), S.R Johnson, or Kressler. I see very little offered for the money. Looks very much like a Snody, Terryl or a number of other tactical makers in the 300.00 range. Mot a put down. Just what I'm seeing. This kind of price on this type of knife would be if fit and finish is all top notch. Bud Nealy also comes to mind in the type being shown. Any number of makers do as well. Is it possible that the rate would be 300.00 not 3000.00? At tis price it would put it above a Loveless with no guard. Loveless is the most collectible non adorned knives out there. I've never heard of this maker. Not that, that makes all the difference. But at that price, for that type of knife, he should be one of the very top makers in the world. Mike

Takasugiru to omou ! Jitsuyou sei ga nai naifu desu !
means too expensive for a knive with no practical use. yes I agree with Anton Tokyo but I would buy it if it was priced about 800 dollars. Not more than that. The man at the store also feels that the knive is too expensive and he said it's because Nemoto is not taking orders. Mr.Anton Tokyo, if you are reading this post please reply in English. Thank you for your reply.

I have seen other Nemoto knives and they have been priced from $500.00 to a little over $1000.00. $2600.00 seems inflated to me.

Yeah, but it's tactical!!!:jerkit:

To each his own, I suppose, but I'm with Mike and Don on this one.

Nemoto is one of the most sought after tactical makers in Japan, in the last year or two he has more than doubled his prices and i do not know if it has hurt his sales worldwide but i know that the only supplier im aware of here in the U.S. has stopped bringing them in because of the prices.

tadgear used to carry nemoto knives until they were too difficult to obtain and double in price. used to be in the $300-400 range, then became $600-700. Nemotos prices are high due to the scarcity and unavailability.

but not $2600. I wouldn't buy knives at that price, but swords (properly polished ones).

at $2600 for a tactical knife, I'd rather buy a firearm.

personally, I hate buying because of "name" or branding, hence I will never buy a loveless either. not a knock on any collector or the maker.
