Hey folks,
I don't think I can pull off the traditional "frontier" style like some of the other bladesmiths can. Frankly, I don't have the urge to even attempt. It usually boils down to making stuff "I like". This is a decent example of one of my Tribal models. It's a primitive look done in a non-period quasi-stylized manner.... whatever that means. The indigenous hieroglyphs along the edge of the sheath are East Coast Mi'Kmaq writings. The Mi'Kmaq culture is very prevalent in the area I live. This is my way of honoring the people. I don't have any idea what it says... hopefully nothing too, obscene.
Simple build... it is what it is. More info, here.
The "Bone Trapper"
Overall Length: 9″
Blade Length: 4 1/4″
Handle Construction: Deer femur, hemp wrapped (epoxy soaked)
Sheath: Hand stitched, tooled and wax dipped. Sash carry with leather tie strap.
