Nepalese man sues KBR on human trafficking charges

There are many beau-coups of people working for Haliburton and many beau-coups of them don't have a clue of the countless underhanded and filthy-nasty dealings that Haliburton is said to be or had been involved in.:barf: :(
Many years ago I had heard of just a very few of those things Haliburton was suspected of being involved in and was and remain very happy to not have, or ever have had, any first hand knowledge of any of them.

I have a buddy who works construction and he got a job with KBR which (was or) is owned by Halliburton. He said that they were total pr*cks to work for. Tried to cheat you out of hours and stuff.

Funny part was when he first got the job I chided him for working for a scab outfit. He argued what a good company they were. Then the next time I talked to him after he had worked there a while he was singing my song.

I checked, and "was" is correct.

In the process of checking, I also discovered that AFTER he wrote Fahrenheit 9/11, in which he blasted Hallibutron, multi-millionaire Michael Moore owned 2000 shares of Halliburton stock. Fascinating. Guess he was correct when he said, "I don't own a single share of Halliburton."

How many big companies really show compassion for their workers?

Not a damned one I know about Tom even though a helluva lot of them talk a good story.:( Halliburton has a huge manufacturing facility down at Duncan Oklahoma and many, many, years ago the company was damned near Godlike among the people with its presence there! It's easy to understand why seeing as how the biggest part of them depended on Halliburton for their livelihood and Halliburton paid very well for a company in a smallish off the beaten track town. Lawton Oklahoma was much the same way with a large percentage of the population there also working for Halliburton.

HERE is the Wikipedia info about Duncan Oklahoma....
And HERE is Wikipedia's take on Halliburton for what it's worth....
And Here is an outfit that is a watchdog against Halliburton.;)

Way back then I had a b-i-l that worked for Halliburton and even then there were countless stories about the many shady and illegal dealings Halliburton was said to be involved in, usually where there's a lot of smoke there's some fire involved as well.:( :thumbdn: :grumpy:

Halliburton had a big place in the town I used to go to college in. At least there they were a good employer. Brown and Root is another story:rolleyes:

I tried watching a couple of Michael Moore's films on TV, but I never got all the way through one. If he made a workout video, I would probably buy that — but I'd rather see Vincent Pastore's rehearsal tapes from Dancing With the Stars.

Can't think of a film maker I would turn to for ethical guidance, with the possible exception of Woody Allen.

I used to get money from Halliburton. When my father died, he left me an annuity from TIAA-CREF. Every year they sent me a portfolio list like a small town phone directory: they owned everything. I really miss those Halliburton dollars.

Halliburton spun off KBR in April 2007. Spin-offs cost money, so there has to be a reason. One good reason is cutting losses, another is minimizing legal liability. Was KBR losing Halliburton money?

I don't know of any big companies that really show compassion for their workers. But that wasn't what those news stories were about. They were about running slaves. Some of us think that's beyond the pale.

Have read several stories of people unwittingly enslaved.
