Well done, Beo. My suggestion from the day forward is try to learn enough of the culture to sort of half way fit into events. It will make your life more pleasant and will avoid certain embarrassments due to lack of knowledge. Simple things like don't hand the gift to your brother in law with your left hand. It will pay high dividends. And teach Sonia as much about your culture as you can.
