Just purchased a small sebenza 31 black Micarta. I have had a large 21 Micarta and a small plain Jane 21 in the past. I felt the large 21 was too big for my EDC needs, sold it in new condition. The PJ 21 was just too, well...plain, so solid it after a few months of use/carry. I am hoping that this is THE one...can't wait to give the small Micarta 31 a try. Anyone else go through a few Sebenzas before finding their favorite? Let's hear your Sebenza journey ....:)

I can honestly say ANY large CRK seems to work well for me....All eras of Sebs, Umnumzaans, Inkosi's,etc. Even the TiLock , though smaller is fine. Smalls just don't seem like enough knife to me...

The one CRK I purchased and instantly regretted because it was not enough knife for me was the Mnandi. I tend to gravitate towards 3" blades, with anything under being too small for my liking If there was a Sebenza with a 3.25" blade, that would be bliss.

For me I went through 2 Sebenzas and one Mnandi. I sold all three and then I bought a second Mnandi. It was the only one that I wished that I had kept. The Sebenzas were fine, nothing wrong with them, I just didn’t fall in love with them and they were both 21’s.

The Mnandi I owned had the Striped Platan inlays, very beautiful knife. Def nothing wrong with the Mnandi, they are solid little knives.

I really enjoy my Mnandi, it has the box elder inlays. I am an office worker and it pretty much handles anything that I need to cut on a daily basis. My cutting needs are pretty light compared to some other members here.

I’m not personally a fan of the smalls - the single small 21 is a safe queen to be given to my son on his eventual wedding day. It is a CGG “Join or Die” and he is a big history/early American history buff.

The larges are just right; I have both large 21’s and Inkosi’s. The inlaid versions do make a big difference in feel, at least to me. Especially true in the 21, it is almost like holding an entirely different knife.

As a city dweller and office drone, I can't see regularly carrying the large. With that said, I have a feeling that I may buy the PJ large 31 when the s45 version drops. For some reason I like the smalls with inlays and the large without. I feel like the small PJ is a little dainty, but the inlays add a little bit of thickness which aids in filing in the hand. The larges seem big enough without needing the extra help from an inlay, that's my theory--I'll be testing this out when the s45 drops!

For me the large is what I want to own, but the small is what I want to carry. First world problems. :)

Sometimes I wonder why CRK doesn't just release a 3.25" Sebenza....wait...but then I would't need to debate between small and large, ultimately buying both! lol

I went directly to larges. Actually my first two were right handed at about the same time. A large 21 was first, then an umnumzaan a few days later. Had no problem working them left handed. Got rid of them fairly soon after that and ordered lefty’s. The larges always fit me best. A little ways down the road I bought a mnandi (sold since then) and a small 21. I still have the small 21, haven’t carried it in years. Cant bring myself to sell it tho. Keep thinking that maybe one day my son will want a small. Inlay versions to make a difference for me as well. For some reason I prefer plain 21s and inlayed inkosi’s. I own both versions tho. Have no problem carrying a plain Inkosi. After a few days my hand gets used to whatever I have

A Sebenza would be an awesome gift for a son to get from his father.
The Umnumzaan has certainly caught my eye.

I would say I'm in the minority here for preferring the small, BUT I just ordered a Large PJ 31 directly from CRK. The lady who answered said I will most likely receive the s45 version since the lead time is 9-12 months out. She also mentioned that the Mnandis are next in line to get the new steel...so seems like we'll be seeing those soon, and Sebenzas will take a while longer.

Yeah, on my journey into CRK’s, I’ve acquired regulars, 21’s, 25’s, Umnumzaan’s, Ti Lock, Impinda.
Micarta inlays, carbon fiber inlays, CGG’s, Uniques and the problem is that they’re all my favorites. Each time I’ve bought a CRK, it has been
“ the one”. I want to keep them all.

Do you have a favorite CRK?
