All this talk of degrees of sharp make me wonder where the "sharp" nerve is.
For myself, I think it runs in a line from the roots of the teeth to a spot just behind the scrotum and just in front of the sphincter.
When I touch a SHARP edge, a signal runs between the two points and causes a weak tingling below and a zappy salivating loss of control of tooth nerves.
If unconstrained, it can spread to a full blown shiver.
