Wanted to showcase a recent purchase. A while back defaultuser was showing this knife off, I fell in love with it, and when he put it up for sale I considered it, but wasn't the biggest fan of the sheath. He made another knife just like the first and it is a beauty! I carry it often with my modified PSK by Adventure Medical (the Doug Ritter one).
I don't like sheath straps usually since they are so easily cut, so we put our heads together and came up with the design you see. Strap is one the spine side and holds securely. The holes are for lashing for a little extra security on a pack, belt, or your leg.

Fire made with fatwood and knife. I did not use the striker, used the knife spine instead. Threw little fireballs!

Thanks again defaultuser for taking the time to make me such a great knife. Interested parties can find him hanging around here on W&SS. He is a part-time maker, so patience is important. He is very communicative and aims to please, so working with him is terrific.

Specs by defaultuser:

- CPM S30V steel, heat treated by Rob Ridley at Ranger Original.
- RHC of knife was 59.5 on one reading, so the edge should range from 59 to 60.
- OAL 8.5", 4" blade lenght, thickness 1/8"
- Convex grind, small "v" edge
- Hand satin finished
- Cocobolo handle, brass 1/8 pins, stainless steel lanyard tube.
- Leather sheath designed by me :D

Wow. Nice looking Nessie. I like it because there is a little drop to edge to keep your fingers from sliding onto the blade. I like the shape of the handle too. Overall a very pleasing and well executed interpretation of the classic Nessie.

amazing job on the finish and aesthetics.

I've seen a few makers do a slight drop to the edge of a nessie- it's very intuitive and I think it's the way the design "wants to be" in a utility knife. it sure works!

Very nice package! Both sheath and knife look beautiful and solidly built!

Enjoy bro!

That's a lot of pins! Must be one extremely secure handle. Looks great.

Default user included a little Grohman in there eh?
Very nice knife - I like that interpretation. Neat sheath too. Check the shape relative to my Breeden Pathfinder (avatar)...Yeah there is whole lot of Russell #1 belt knife in that one!

Very good looking knife there. Kinda a Grohman/Nessmuk thing going there!

Nice review Rocky! And thanks for the good comments guys!

The only thing not entirely true is that I don't mainly hang out here in W&SS, but in the Beer talk thread in the Community Center :D
