How about a full tang Nessmuk Double Bit Hatchet? It would be 1/4" thick O1, with a head 6" wide, and have cutting edges about 3 1/4" long. Overall, it would be about 13" - 14", with 3/4 length handle slabs of oak, tan canvas, black canvas or orange G10

I can do it with oak handles for $225, with micarta for $235, and G10 for $245.

I`m planning on making them uniform. I`ve heard from several people that on the ones with different grinds that the thicker grind did not work the greatest.

Very true, but seriously John, your hatchet grind is PERFECT!!! I don't see a need to have a thicker and thinner grind.
 
Thought there would be more interest in this one. Maybe after everyone see`s the one I`m doing for ManOfMisery in the beginning of December.
 
i'm interested in this one john. i posted in a thread here about it, not sure where it went though. i think it will be a great little camp axe. small enough to be packed in but big enough to handle some serious work. i'm loving the belt hawk (can't wait for mine lol) this one and the spike hawk. i can't wait to see a finished product for this one

If I can afford the steel in January, I may do one. Right now it does not look too likely, but we`ll see how it goes.
 
Great to hear. It's a fantastic idea. I know I'd be all over it if I had some extra money. I don't yet though.
 
The order has been confirmed, so watch out, everybody will be wanting one of these!
 
I'm stoked to see this. If it comes out like the cut out I may just have to go for the hatrack of camp axes lol. I have the camp hawk, spike hawk is on order lol. damn you john stop coming up with such good stuff.
