so with the designing of the ultimate "Nessmuk" Busse, one has to first decide what they want the Nessmuk to do. there are 3 basic "types" of Nessmuk as I can see, in the same fashion as any other knife.

Nessmuk carried a hatchet and a pocket knife, which filled out the small carving tasks, and the heavy chopping tasks. we probably wont get these two items along with the Nessmuk Busse, so what is best for the masses depends on whether they want the knife to be limited to one task, or try to cover the other two tools tasks as well.

1: dedicated to skinning and wood work, small in size
2: able to chop and baton, while being mid sized for skinning and general work
3: one small for cutting, AND one large and thick for chopping (magnum/le version)

I'll give three examples of these size types:

the knives in the outdoors world review represent the first type, small enough to skin and do detail work including wood carving, but thats about it unless your working with small branches.

the knife found here by "Cariboo Blades" (Scott Richardson and Aki Yamamoto) represents the second type, large enough to really baton with, but still mid sized enough for general duty and some wood carving.

post number 3 in this thread shows one variation of the third type. If you made this knife 1/8" thick, it could do some light machete work, chopping, and general large knife work. you could pair it with something the size of a skeleton key, or perhaps a 3rd gen badger attack (the first poll choices size or smaller) to fill out a more "nessmukian" set.

obviously all of these would have to have a Busse flair to them in their redesigning (especially for maker specific designs, which are shown for size rather then direct design) :D

I already told Jerry he just has to strech out the ASH-1 to a 10" blade and he'll have the perfect "woodcraft" knife, it would be a bad-ass "nessmuk" as well.
