There is a live camera feed of a pair of nesting Ospreys in Orange Beach, Alabama, at .http://www.ospreycamera.com/ .

I learned of this yesterday and since then have kept it running in a window when I am online. I have managed to see feeding time for the two babies three times now.
The male drops in with a fish and the female tears pieces of it off and feeds the polts, or whatever you call an infant Osprey. The most aggressive of the two gets at least 70% of the feeding. It is interesting how she goes for the head and the entrails first, I suppose because these are the most nutrient-laden.

I find this fascinating to watch. couple of guys on another forum say their work production is way down since they found it.

It's so neat to watch the mother take care of her young. It doesn't seem like it would be something you could spend a lot of time watching, but after spending a few minutes on the cite I can see myself losing track of time while watching these birds.

That's cool! I live in perdido key. Just a few miles from orange beach. There are TONS of osprey around here!

Aww crap, I thought you meant these Osprey's:

Great web cam! Thanks Mike. I grew up in that area and never saw any there until the mid 80's. I sill remember seeing the first one, and from a distance thinking it was a Bald Eagle at first. Being before internet and in a small town, it took me days to figure out what it was. I saw my first Bald Eagle there Christmas Morning 2010, and there are several nesting pairs in the area now.

Nice.
Berry College near me has one set up on a Bald Eagle nest on campus...http://www.berry.edu/eaglecam/

They started flying two ot three weeks ago. I haven't watched it lately, and don't know if they are still coming back to the nest. They've been using the nest a few years, so if they're gone for now they'll be back at the end of the year.

If anyone is still watching these ospreys, daddy just flew in with a fresh fish... Dinner! :)
ETA: Of the times I've checked 'em out this is the first time I've seen him.

This web cam is so strange to me. I've lived over half my life just 1/3rd of a mile from this spot. The street below is 1 of 2 that lead to my house so I've driven it thousands of times. I spend half the time I'm on it fascinated by the birds, and the other half trying to recognize neighbors and friends. I can't stop watching it.

Ospreys are awesome birds of prey. They are easily mistaken as Bald Eagles at first glance. We have many Ospreys in the West coast of FL.

I am a huge raptor fan and photographer. The osprey population in central Florida has exploded over the last few years. Very cool link. Thank you for sharing.

This is a picture of a female Osprey rebuilding the nest after a violent thunder storm. It took me a couple of days of studying her and the light patterns to capture this.
