I've been thinking of getting a netbook, as I seem to be doing more business on the road these days, and am tired of squinting at a phone. My question is, do any of them have an avaiable charge that hooks into a vehicle's cigarette lighter socket?

Sure. But you may find it cheaper and more useful to buy a small 12VDC-to-120VAC inverter (small ones are very inexpensive these days) and then use the same power supply/charger that comes with the computer.

Thanks Bob, I had looked at that, but one of the reviews says it doesn't actually fit all Eeepc models like Asus says, so I was a bit worried about that.

It's worth investigating, for sure, to check compatibility with your exact model.

Don't quote me on this, but I have a Acer Aspire One with the 6cell battery, it'll last a couple hours, the 9cell is the one the costs more and will last longer. The battery on the 9cell also sticks out of the back further as its bigger. I have no first hand expereince with any other models so I cant comment.

Read reviews on the different models and which types of batteries they come with. Going out and getting the cheaper one won't last 9hours. Just wanted to comment so you don't find yourself disapointed.

A power inverter is a good way to go. Not only will it charge your netbook, but it will also charge your phone, iPod and other electronic devices. A good quality 150W inverter shouldn't cost more then $59.99 (more likely much less) and will even charge a modern full sized laptop. Maybe not the latest 17" Gaming laptop, but most laptops non the less.
