http://www.thehighroad.org/library/blades/knifelaws.html. So according to this you can carry anything in Nevada? And a 2'' switchblade? I live in Reno. I carry a Camillus CQB1 everyday concealed. I thought it was illegal, but I guess not. But maybe it might be in a local ordinance or something. Does anyone live here. Do they have limits on folder size?I was going to start carrying a folder but now I guess not. do they have a limit on concealed fixedblade size, like would a Ka-bar TDI be O.K. concealed?and I was arrested before in another state for a switchblade along time ago. does that effect anything here?

MBC77,

Nevada is a fairly knife-friendly state. Ordinary folding pocket knives may be carried openly or concealed. State law prohibits concealed carry of dirks, daggers, and machetes.

State law prohibits possession (and hence carry) of switchblades with blades two inches or greater, so 2 inches is illegal, 1.9 inches is not. See, Nev. Rev. Stat. Sec. 202.350 (2005). A minor point, I know, but wanted to correct an inaccuracy in your earlier post.

Regarding Reno, here are some municipal ordinances you should be aware of regarding knife carry:

Reno -- Possession of any knife with blade length two inches or greater while violating any park or recreational facility ordinance is separate misdemeanor. See, RENO, NEV., MUNICIPAL CODE § 8.23.140 (2005). Ordinance defines blade length measured “from the tip of the knife which is customarily sharpened to the unsharpened extension of the blade which forms the hinge connecting the blade to the handle.” See, id. Possession of weapons in Reno Municipal courthouse prohibited. See, id. at § 8.12.160.

From Knife Laws of the Fifty States -- A Guide for the Law-Abiding Traveler, page 99.

Hope this helps.
