Never ever discontinue spyderco military ...!!!

They probably will when the Military 2 comes out.

IIRC, Sal Glesser has said that they probably will keep the current Military in the line when the Military 2 is introduced.

Got a link for the Military 2? What changes are they going to make? Frame lock?

It is somewhere in the future, according to posts by Sal. IIRC, the only change that was identified as "likely" was using a new lock called the "stop lock" that so far appears only in Spyderco patent filings.

i look forward to the M2. if its anything like the current model, it'll be a winner. im curious about this new lock...

Whatever changes they make to the Military, I hope it has the same changes that were made to the Paramilitary. Basically, I want a PM2 with a 4" blade. I guess you could call it a M2. But then again, that's just me.

I have a drawer full of awesome folders but I cant keep the military out of my pocket!! I have been using a partially serrated s30v @ work(cuts rope like crazy!) and the brown xhp after work & weekends. I also have a plain edge s30v in the mail that should be here thursday just for the hell of it.

I don't think they'll ever discontinue the Military.

Maybe a slight change, but I sure hope the exact handle and blade shape are kept. Pretty sure they would be.
The only reason they got rid of the hump on the back of the PARA handle is because the handle was to short for it to fit your hand properly.
Its perfect on the larger Military handle. Your pinky doesn't land on the hump, and it offers many secure grip options.

If/when they come out with the military 2, I would like to see a lanyard hole added, 4 way clip, and the edges of the G-10 rounded like on the para2, and thats it. I like the liner lock, but as long as it was any lock that could be operated easily with one hand it would be fine.

With Sal and Erics track record, they will likely hit it out of the park when they get around to some CQI on the Military. It is a great knife as it is though for sure.

Maybe they will make a better lock than the liner lock on the current one. Although the current lock works fine, a better one is welcome. What's that they say about horsepower?

Ahemmm pictures!!!
