Hello,

I've noticed that throughout the History the knife makers have put in their creations some signs, representations, of important elements of their lives.
For those who visit the "traditional french knives" threads Pierre Yves Joyeux is a good example of this.

When he left Fontenille & Pataud he contributed to create he decided to make is own company to be a free knife-maker.
For him it was very important to be free. In french there is an expression to say "regain one's freedom" it's "Prendre la clé des champs", literally to take the field's key". So as not to forget this feeling of freedom he writes it on all his blades which makes them unique on the market.
Who ignore the story only buys a good knife and ignores that this knife is what makes Pierre Yves a free man.

But to write these words makes me think of another symbol :)

Is " waynorth waynorth " another one of these symbols
In this case I find it as a source of imagination for all of us . I imagine it as a great migration. A migration like those made buy the buffalos when they were free , I mean when they had the "clé des champs" ;).

Have a great Sunday my friends

Would that I had the freedom to create as does Pierre Yves Joyeux!!
GEC is the best production maker, but my access is limited!!

So Charlie never said how he picked up that brand name? I thought that he did but I missed it (as usual, lol).

waynorth waynorth say Charlie, where "Waynorth Cutlery" comes from?
It started as me needing an avatar name for Bladeforums; "waynorth", because I live way north (in Canada) of the USA where most of my friends here are situated, and where I was born and raised!
Buffalo, N.Y. was where I am from, from 1944 to 1970!!Waynorth Bone 1.jpgWaynorths first 1.jpgWaynorths first 2.jpg
