Never new a cs folder would be worth this much!

well....i dont know...whatever someones willing to spend i guess...personally i never saw this knife over here...so maybe its more common in the US but here a older model black talon recently sold for 350,-...and the talon comes by once in a while

I wouldn't be surprised TBH. The Hatamoto is long discontinued and is very collectible. Plus it's not like it's cheaply made, this is their high end line and(i think) it's made in Japan with San Mai steel. You can't judge it because it's not made in the US. Nowadays you get Spyderco selling Taiwanese made folder for 200+, and these are not even discontinued/collectible yet.
I personally wont spend so much money on a Hatamoto, but someone who really like this design might.

BTW im not the seller, just giving my .02 in case anyone start getting suspicious. I find that i have to do this kind of disclaimer on bladeforums as i've seen people getting accused easily here..

Oh and dear Cold Steel, perhaps a new triad lock Hatamoto one day??

Back in 2006 CS changed production of many of their folder models from Seki Japan to Taiwan. But a few "high end" models remained manufactured by G.Sakai. The Hatamoto is one of them, made from 2005 to 2010 using Sanmai III blade, G10 scales and Titanium liner and bolsters. A handful of models from that time period, the Black Talon, Caledonian Edge, and some others fall into this category.
I would say that it certainly is one of the more "collectable" older CS knives.
