I knew I'd end up here sooner or later. ;)

I've never owned a Busse, but have been thinking about it ever since I handled a buddy's Satin Jack a couple years ago. Once, I wandered in here looking for a clue on what to buy and saw rumor of a Busse folder in the works. So, I thought, "OK, I'll wait for the folder to come out and that'll be my first Busse."

Now, don't jump upon my poop; I'm sure ya'all have discussed and know all about it, but I know nothing of the project. When is it due out and what are the changes for a regular schmo like me getting my hands on one someday?

Any projected price?

(By the way, I just read Jerry Busse's excellent reply to a customer service issue which made me finally decide to post here looking for a knife to start with. He makes a good first impression.)

Jerry is a great guy.

The folder might appear oneday, but I'm not holding off buying other Busses waiting for it to appear.

Why not order a Satin Jack: they're still available to order, and look very good.

Check out the Busse Company Store: lots of cool things to drool over and buy.

The company store should get Fusion Steel Hearts soon. I just got mine, and it's an incredible go heavy knife.

welcome! the folder is "in the works" i have held several protos and they were excellent but jerry just won't stop trying to make them better
imho the delay will be well worth it

FoL, welcome man.

The folder is still being worked on. Release date unknown at this time.

But, it will be sweet if it is anything like what Jerry had at Blade last year.

I take it from your post that you had checked out the original Satin Jack given the "couple years ago" time.

That blade is one tough field knife, a good combination of size and utility. They still show up now and then on the forums.

As you may have found, that version has been evolved into the newer Satin Jack Tac. As has been suggested, check out the Busse Company Store . There you will find pics and prices.

If we can be of any help, let us know man. There is a lot of info here, a lot on knowledge, and some pretty helpful folks.

Lookin forward to your choice and comments.

Mike

Thanks, guys! I'm kinda checking out the little fixed blades that I can carry up high under my shirt until the folder comes out. I'd be looking for something with about a 3" blade w/kydex that DOESN'T have a sharp protrusion from the butt of the handle to dig into my side. ;)

So, on the folder...
Protos but no photos?

Fulloflead,
Welcome to the Busse Forum, glad that you stopped by.

Are you going to be at Blade this year? If so stop by the booth and ask (maybe beg ;) ) to see the Folder Prototype, maybe he'll have one with him ;)

My first thoughts while you wait are also and Active Duty but you may also want to consider the Skeleton Key, much slimmer, lighter than the Active Duty.

Pics of many of these can be found at www.badmojo.tv

:D:D

Won't be at Blade but will be looking for (and hoping for) pictures posted aferward. I'm going to consider the Active Duty and look for pictures of the Skeleton Key at the site you sent. Thanks!

while you are checking out the active duty take a look at the original mean street. really easy to carry with the right sheathing system.

I'll put my two cents worth in, as well. It sounds as if you might be looking primarily for a defensive carry. The Public Defender is ready-made for this.

I love the Active Duty for edc, it is probably my most used blade. To me it is the perfect size small blade as it is the same size as most folders, so I'm not buying any other folder until the "INFI FOLDER" comes out ;) By the way I just caved in and bought a SJTac in des tan/snakeskin slabs :D

Any of the "smaller" Busses with one of mercop's paracord shoulder holsters will disappear under a shirt.

Sweet. Same options as I picked.
