Never pass up a yard sale.

Damn it! I love Ansel Adams' work, but I hate Don Imus, and he has the Master's camera...... Can I still like Adams without making myself Imus' b*&ch?

Grrrrrr

I read that. However, it is an estate sale where I found a vintage Queen city jack knife in a tool box I bought. I only wanted the tool box, then got interested in that knife. I googled Queen city knife, and found Blade Forums. I have been cursed ever since.:(

My spending habits have been disrupted from that pivotal moment.:p;)

My life sucks. All I ever find are vintage tuppeware lids that have been warped in the dishwasher. Five for a dime.

Cursed by the second-hand Gods I am. :(

Wow. Not bad at all. I've found some good deals on baseball cards and comics in my day.

Just think how miserable your life would have been without that fateful find.

They were interviewing a photography historian on NPR last night about this find; he said the amount mentioned was wildly inflated.
The photographic negatives being only part of Adam's "process". He spent long hours in the darkroom, adjusting the exposure and effects to his satisfaction for each print.

So, although of historic interest, the raw plates are not in the same league as the finished prints produced from same.

My brother called from a garage sale a while back to see if I was interested in a $5 anvil. We talked and I told him to pay the folks, quickly.

The anvil is a 146# Mouse Hole, made in 1878. Not a bad deal. The anvil is sound, has good rebound, and looks like a well used, not overly abused anvil.
